After Jeru had opened it was up to Paris and Guerilla Funk to speak the
Truth. With fans rappin’ along with every lyric. This shows that allthough
we don’t live in the US we can still relate and Hip Hop stays universal.
On Saturday the 30th of July 1st Priority organised the 1st Amsterdam
Hip Hop Festival on the NDSM wharfs. With a big line-up of national and
international artists I made the choice to stay true to my old skool heroes.
It all started off with my friend and hip hop boss Jeru the Damaja.
My year couldn’t have ended in a better way. On my lil girls birthday
Rick Ross performed at de Melkweg in Amsterdam and I was there.
I was affraid that maybe he would get too high to perform but he did not
dissapoint me a bit. His show was tight and his to backup performer did
not disappoint me one bit either. You can download his latest mixtape
Ashes to Ashes here .
The 13th of December M.O.P. performend at Bitterzoet Amsterdam.
This Brownsville (Brooklyn) based crew performed some of their know songs
like Cold as Ice and Ante up.
On the 29th of September Aloe Blacc performed in Amsterdam at the
poptemple Paradiso. He got my attention when he did the title song of
How to make it in America and I started listening to his work. At his concert
I was really suprised by his deep soulfull sound that made me remember
the old soul from the past. If you did not see Aloe Blacc live yet all I can say
is you better buy a ticket when he comes to a venue near you.
On the 22nd of September Raheem DeVaughn performed at Paradiso
Amsterdam. He and his band gave a good performance and got the
female audience crazy at the end of the show. You can follow Raheem on
Facebook and twitter @368hustlers .
Deze mannen vertegenwoordigen Zwolle altijd to the fullest.
Check hun video’s
Fock Wachten en Never nooit vriendje. En blijf ze in de gaten houden want
Adje gaf me backstage te kennen dat er een aantal gekke dingen aankomen.
Wednesday the 28th of July the small but big entertainer miss Leela James
did it again. It has been a long time I saw somebody this hyped performing.
She excused herself for her raspy voice but to be honest I didn’t notice.
Besides miss James her backing vocals and band were off the hook.
On sunday the 25th of July Wu Tang gave a sick performance at Paradiso
Amsterdam. After selling out de Melkweg Amsterdam they did the same in
the musictemple Paradiso. They had the crowd waiting too long anxiously
but made up for that by rippin’ the stage.
Thursday the 15th of July Brother Ali gave a show at de Melkweg Amsterdam

old material from “Subway Silence” . To Giovanca’s surprise the audience
sang On my Way out loud. The show ended with Eric Corton handin’ out
Giovanca’s new album. Be sure to buy her new album I know
you won’t be disappointed you can get your copy here .
Yesterday on the 11th of March one of my favorite singers performed at
the Sugar Factory in Amsterdam. Nope it wasn’t R.Kelly it was Dwele and
his band tearin’ down the Sugar Factory!!
It was hard to concentrate on my photography because I got sidetracked
by his performance. He also performed “I think I love you” which you can
buy here.
On the 5th of March Rivelino Rigters LOUD Foundation organised a benifit

It was really funny seeying fans rockin’ their clothing line Play Cloths.
Yup this was a crazy week first Ryan Leslie and to top it off this week
Amsterdam was blessed to have Jay Electronica over. Jay was spitting
his own lines and some of the people he looks up to like NAS & J-Dilla.
Because of the Appelsap 10 years anniversary , 22tracks, State Magazine
and Bambookings got Jay to Amsterdam so good looking out guys.
On february the 17th Ryan Leslie came to Amsterdam once again.
He rocked the sold out Escape Venue and gave fans their money´s worth.
The crowd was waiting anxiously and Ryan did not disappoint them givin´
his all with his great band. Also check Ryan´s Tweetfeed on his homepage

Bone Thugs and Harmony hit Amsterdam with a

Opening for Bone Thugs and Harmony at the Melkweg
there was a suprise performance by Countrified.
Not the most know rapper in the Netherlands but
he still did his best and gave a thight performance.
To top the R&B Throwback Part II off 1st Priority
closed the show with Heads of State ( New Edition )
with members like Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill, and
Ralph Tresvant. These excuse me for saying this
R&B veterans gave a show I wouldn’t have believed
it iff I wouldn’t have seen it with my own eyes.
Must say I doubted Bobby Brown but the man truly
is a true performer.
RL (from NEXT) came on stage and allthough
not the whole group came to Amsterdam RL
still gave a good show.
Reminiscin on old times Adina Howard
came on stage and just like in the old
days yeah 1974 was a good year and
Adina is a “Freak like me” and she ripped
the stage still sexy as ever.
Never think this man will fade!!
As always Montell Jordan is and
will stay a true entertainer.
Montell is an open and kind man
next to a true artist.
To be honest it had been quite some time
that I had last heard Jon B but like always
hearing his tunes again made me feel good
And what do you think of the guys off AZ-YET

”Last Night”the hit song will.

dissapoint us at all R&B just as we like it
Some time ago I have shot some pictures
for an interview of the House of Hiphop

him with some check his website.

I had heard many people saying these cats rock the
house and all I can say is nobody said too much these
